SYSAC Fishing Section Christmas Party 2025 – A Great Evening with Members

The SYSAC Fishing Section held its annual Christmas Party recently, bringing together 65 members and guests for a fantastic evening of great fun and good company.

The event was a great success and we would like to extend sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making the evening so enjoyable.

Raffle Prizes and Donations

A big thank you goes to the members who generously donated raffle prizes, including:

  • Terry – for the beautiful painting
  • Cynthia – for the Christmas cake
  • Paul – for the fishing tackle prizes
  • Members who kindly donated drinks for the evening

Special thanks also go to Cliff Gapper, who donated the £50 voucher that was awarded as the first prize in the raffle.

We would also like to thank Bernard and Mark of HR Jones Tackle for their continued support of the club.

Helping Make the Evening Special

Many members contributed behind the scenes to make the evening run smoothly:

  • Tony – for organising the table dressing and entertainment
  • Lawrence – for providing the lighting and sound system
  • Dean – for putting together the evening’s playlist
  • Paul Hadfield – for supplying the delicious mulled wine

Entertainment and Activities

The evening was filled with laughter and great entertainment, including:

  • A fun quiz
  • Bingo with a difference, hosted by Craighton
  • The popular Heads and Tails competition

A special mention goes to Rose Turrell, who kindly donated her winnings from the Heads and Tails competition.

Supporting Good Causes

Thanks to Rose’s generous gesture and additional contributions on the night, we were able to donate:

  • £40 to Motor Neurone Disease charities
  • £20 to Cancer Research

The Christmas Party was a wonderful way to round off the year and bring members together socially. If anyone has been unintentionally missed from the thanks, please accept our apologies and know that your support is greatly appreciated.
